Robinwood Cleanup

Join us this Sunday, May 3rd at 1 p.m. for the continuation of cleaning up and beautification of Robinwood! Last cleanup we had a tremendous turn out; filled a 70 yard dumpster; filled more than one hundred additional garbage bags; and met many new faces.

"Robinwood was coined the ugliest street in the D although they have torn down alot of blight houseing.A bigger problem of people dumping on the street is accruing. We are turning many abandon lots in to organic gardens. So on Sunday the 3 of may we will be having a second. clean up in honer of eartheday. this will be the largest amount of garbage removed in the citys history by volunteer After the clean up Robinwood, goldengate / Detroit block party. we will BBQ Bonfire and play music. So if you love Detroit come lend a hand. Bring your gloves and instruments. we will have a safe place to picth a tent or some indoor housing is available with pre notice. Stay the weekend.Out of the ashes the Detroit will rise.Remember we are the renaissance city.Question Call Charlie B248-667-1933"
A thank you to those who helped make the last clean up such a success:

  • The City of Detroit for donating the dumpster, gloves and garbage bags
  • A west goldengate neighbor who donated gloves and masks
  • Everyone who brought food that helped the volunteers energized and hydrated on the hot day
  • THE VOLUNTEERS who worked hard and far exceeded expectations on what we are able to accomplish when we work together
